I've been invited to teach a course (in Hebrew) on "Sufi Music and Poetry" at the Center for Oriental Music in Musrara. I've been invited by the folks in the Greek Community to give an introductory lecture there, next Thursday night. It's a beautiful spot, just down the block from the bookstore. Sufi Poetry and It's Fruits in Dervish Music

We'll introduce (in simple Hebrew) some principles of the Sufi Path of Love that flourished within Islam, including poetry of the poetess Rabia, and then offer a taste of the poetry of Rumi and the tradition of oriental classical music he inspired, and the poetry of Yunus Emre and the oriental folk-music tradition that he inspired... which continues into our day.
